More About Our Internships

  • Each internship is created to accommodate both the interests of the intern and the needs of the local church.
  • Interns choose to serve in a specific ministry area, such as Pastoral, Children, Youth, Young Adult, Worship, etc.
  • Internships are based on an individualized contract developed by the intern and supervisor that includes both leadership development and hands-on ministry opportunities.
  • Internships last for four (4) months and can begin at any time during the year.
  • Interns are compensated based on hours served per week: $1,000 for a 10-15 hr/wk term and $2,000 for a 16-20+ hr/wk term.
*Summer internships are also available and run for 12 weeks between May and August.

Meet our hardworking Interns!

Brendan Acebo

Worship Arts Intern**

The Bridge Church

Brendan Acebo grew up in Lititz Pennsylvania and is studying Worship Arts at Lancaster Bible College.  In his spare time he enjoys reading, writing, competing in Strongman and hanging out with his cat Leo.

Dan McGowan

Meeting Launch/Worship Ministry Intern**

Circle of Hope

My name is Dan McGowan. I'm from South Jersey. I grew up in a very creative and musical family that always had a great love for Jesus. Creating music and art has always been extremely important to me. Through my church Circle of Hope in Philadelphia/New Jersey, I've found a way to use the gifts and experience that God has given me to become a leader in the church. I'm a bit of a late bloomer, but I believe that God has a plan for me to lead others into the same community, mercy, and space to grow that I have been given. God continues to gently push me where I need to go and give me the right opportunities to say "yes". NextGen Ministries is helping me to do just that, and I thank God for this wonderful opportunity and this incredible time to be alive!

William Holman

Marsh Creek BIC**

Children and Youth Intern

"I grew up in Coatesville and later West Chester. I have lived here all of my life with the exception of college. I currently live in West Chester.  I love doing things in the outdoors as well as reading, card games, and board games. I also love watching football and as the Eagles are my team this year was particularly exciting. At the moment I do a lot of house painting as well as serving in youth ministry for the past 6-7 years.

I will be working with youth and childrens

Right now my favorite verse is Psalm 73:21-26

My favorite worship song is Ever Be.

My favorite part of my ministry role at MCCC is When I get into it I know my favorite hands down will be interacting with the students. I absolutely love the conversations that come about and its always a joy to see when and where God makes himself known within the conversations."

Describe a “shining moment” in your internship...

Certainly preaching, it was at times very nerve-racking, but after I did it it was amazing to see that people listened to me and believed that God could speak through me.
